　　寂静的书
　　A long time ago, there was a farmhouse.
　　很久以前，有一户农舍。
　　A casket was under the tree in the garden.
　　花园的树底下有一口棺材。
　　Since no one lived in thre house, nobody felt sad.
　　因这栋屋舍久无人居，也没有人会为此感到悲伤。
　　There was a thick book as well as a dead body inside of the casket.
　　棺材里面除了一具遗体外还有本厚厚的书。
　　Many kinds of flowers and plants were put in the book.
　　书里面夹着各种各样的花卉和植物的标本。
　　One day, a young traveler heard about the dead man's story from an old farmer.
　　有一天，一位年轻的旅行家从老农那里听说了这个关于死者的故事。
　　"He was a student from Sweden."
　　“他是一名来自瑞典的学生。”
　　"He could speak foreign languages and write poems.
　　“他会说几门外语，还会写诗。
　　He was smart, but suddenly, he lost his talent.
　　他很聪明，但是突然间，他失去了这些才华。
　　That's why he came to this ranch.
　　这就是他来到农场的原因。
　　He sat down and thought about something everyday.
　　每天他坐在那里好像在思考着什么。
　　Sometimes he read, and cried.
　　有时他会读书并嚎啕大哭。
　　Before he died, he asked me a favor."
　　他死之前，还请我帮他个忙。”
　　"What did he ask you?"
　　“帮什么忙？”
　　"To put a book in his casket.
　　“就是把那本书放进棺材里。
　　That poor boy has a sweet sleep forever in the casket now."
　　现在那个可怜的男孩子永远地沉睡在棺材里了。”
　　The young traveler saw the dead student's face.
　　这位年轻的旅行家看到了死者的面容。
　　"He looks so peaceful. Maybe he is happy now."
　　“他现在看起来好平静。也许他现在很幸福。”
　　"I don't know why his old pen pals don't come over here to see him."
　　“我不知道为什么他的老朋友们不过来看看他。”
　　"Maybe they are all just busy."
　　“也许他们都很忙。”
　　"He used to think for a long time reading the old letters.
　　“他犹豫了很久要不要读那封旧信。
　　His friends are all gone, and he is alone now. What a pity!"
　　他的朋友们一个个儿的都走了，只剩下他孤身一人。真可怜啊！”
　　"Anyway, what are those leaves in the book?"
　　“那么，这本书中的叶子又是什么？”
　　"I have no idea."
　　“我不知道。”
　　The leaves were still in the book, but the friendship was gone.
　　虽然叶子还在这本书里，但是友谊已经不复存在了。
　　"There are white flowers"
　　“这都是些白色的花。”
　　"The dead student pulled the flowers up for himself. His tears are still in the flower."
　　“是啊，这个可怜的学生自己收集了很多花。这些花里还藏有他的泪水。
　　"There are nettles, trumpet honeysuckle and even lilies! Wow, those are a lot of flowers!"
　　”“有荨麻，金银花还有百合！哇，这些花的种类还真是繁多啊！”
　　"Every single flower has the student's memory.
　　“每一朵花都代表着他独特的记忆。
　　But now, it is just a memory of the past."
　　而现在，这些记忆已成过往云烟。
　　Soon, a woodworker came to cover the casket.
　　”很快，一个木匠来将棺材盖合上。
　　Dead men always keep silent leaving their secrets behind them.
　　那些逝去的人们总是静静地躺在那里，把所有的秘密都带进了棺材中。
